Geek Chic

It's already the second week of September, but just in case you still wanted a pretty little notebook to tote around or a creative planner that suits your style here's a few of my favorite places to shop for school supplies:

  • Russell + Hazel
I live by this company. I just dropped $90 on supplies from here just a few days ago.
  • Essentials.
One of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Northampton.
  • Kate's Paperie
They're very much into the eco-friendly, cause it's so trendy right now.
  • Paper Source
This place inspired me to one day open up my own stationery store.
  • See Jane Work
I don't know much about this place, but they do supply a few of my favorite designers.

Spring Break, A Haiku

Back home for spring break,
it always seems better
when piled in work.

After six hours
of avoiding bad drivers
I just want to sleep.

I have a habit
of watching Disney Channel
when I come back home.

RIT schedules
Spring Break at a shitty time,
my friends are away.

I wish MyCourses
posted the class lists online
for classmate stalking.

New classes seem much
brighter and I look forward
to starting them soon.

Snow in Spring

Regardless of what is outside my window, I still anticipate the Spring and the inspiration that will drive from it. We dove in head–first into Spring Quarter and I love my current Photo 3 teacher, Joe Z. He has a great sense of humor, he enforces time-management (which I desperately need), and he also teaches the Fashion Photography course. I don't know if it was the depressing winter or the frustration with a new medium, but I feel a lot more motivated to start projects this quarter. Right off the bat Joe gave us a complete detailed syllabus for us to plan ahead. Excellent.

In the next few weeks I hope to get some newer work up from the past few quarters. It'll be long and arduous but I'll be killing two birds with one stone by self–promotion and getting my final together for Photo 3, which is a complete digital portfolio.

I feel like I have a good, strong start to the quarter and I hope it doesn't slow down.
